It's the pots of . . . whatever they are. . . that people use to make bindis on their forehead. the little girls i'm nannying right now are hindi and this is on their shrine counter in their kitchen and they spent a while telling me all about what everything is used for. they called it something else, in marathi, but i forgot the word. (but i can count to ten in marathi!)
